Working for you

Mike believes that Pennsylvania’s future depends on our willingness to lead.

mike is running for the State Senate to flip the chamber and ensure that the voices of everyday Pennsylvanians are heard loud and clear in Harrisburg.

Our mission is clear: we must raise wages to support thriving families, invest deeply in our public schools to level the playing field for every student, and protect the integrity of our elections.

This campaign is a commitment to confront the challenges leaving our communities behind and the courage to build a commonwealth that works for everyone.

Michael “Mike” Cogbill is a seasoned organizer, dedicated advocate, and a lifelong champion for justice and liberty. He has spent his career building power from the ground up—leading civil rights campaigns, protecting voter access, and advancing policies that make our communities safer, fairer, and more equitable.

A Track Record of Leadership

Mike has been on the front lines of the most important battles facing our Commonwealth. His extensive experience includes:

  • Championing Workers: As the former Political Director for the Philly AFL-CIO, Mike fought tirelessly for fair wages and the right to organize.

  • Ending Gun Violence: As Lead Organizer for CeaseFirePA in Southeast Pennsylvania, he spearheaded the push for common-sense laws to keep our streets safe.

  • Defending Democracy: Mike has served as a guardian of our elections, working as the Regional Director for Voter Protection with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party and as an Election Protection Organizer with Common Cause.

In 2020, Mike’s strategic leadership for the NAACP and the AFL-CIO was instrumental in mobilizing Pennsylvania voters to defend our democracy at the highest level. Now, he is ready to take that same fight to Harrisburg to flip the State Senate and lead Pennsylvania in a bold new direction.

A Voice for Northwest Philly and Eastern MontCo

Mike is running to provide the bold, people-first leadership that our families deserve. He understands that a zip code should never determine a child’s future or a family's safety. In the State Senate, Mike will be a champion for:

  • Economic & Social Justice: Raising the wage floor and investing in our neighborhoods.

  • Reproductive Rights: Ensuring Pennsylvania remains a state where healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

  • Gun Violence Prevention: Taking on the lobby to pass meaningful safety reform.

  • Protecting the Vote: Expanding access to the ballot and ensuring every voice is heard.

Mike Cogbill isn't just asking for your vote—he’s asking to be your champion. Together, we can build a Harrisburg that works for all of us.
